Parent Notice

Parents please remember that every Wednesday during period 3 & 4 your child is required to attend their swimming lessons as part of their school curriculum. Your children will be assessed on their engagement in the swimming lessons each week and need to be attending these classes. Please ensure that every Wednesday they come prepared with a (swimsuit, towel, goggles and swim cap) so that they can be prepared to attend class and receive credit for attending each week. If you child can not attend a swimming class on Wednesday because they are still recovering from being ill or for other reasons then please just let Mr. Golf or I know by email or through Line.

Language & Literature 

This week in Language and Literature class the learners have continued to worked on their communication skills. The learners discussed and researched how to classify documentaries and explored why documentaries are created. The learners also took the GL PTE External Assessment to assess what type of learner they are in English. They also continued to read "The Diary of a Young Girl" by Anne Frank. 






Individuals & Society

This week in our Individuals & Society class the learners worked on exploring Human Rights. The learners have been researching about some of the human rights issues that are taking place across the world. For next week the learners will be debating about how fairness and development plays a different role in different places around the world.

Maths

After having completed an assessment test, students are continuing to practice numerical operations this week. This includes adding and subtracting unlike fractions, simplifying fractions, multiplying and dividing with decimals and solving word problems that require calculating the least common multiple or the highest common factor. Students are improving their skills so that they will be prepared for the next unit which includes solving equations with unknown values.





Science

This week students have been completing their conclusions for our first experiment on comparing materials to protect eggs from cracking. In addition to this, students have assisted with the stocking of the new science lab at the school. Science classes will soon move to the lab where students will begin an investigation of the states of matter, and properties of materials. 








Homework 

Each MYP classroom teacher will be assigning their homework via Google Classroom. The children should be reading at least 15 pages per day from "The Diary of a Young Girl" by Anne Frank. EAL learners will have their own reading to do from Ms. Liza.
