Parent Notice
ข่าวสารถึงผู้ปกครอง
Dear parents,
On March 31st from 13:00-15:00, we will be having our Student Led Conferences. We will have three different groups and times for each group to meet with their children to discuss their student portfolios. Once parents have met with their child and completed the Student Led Conference they are free to take their child home with them. Below is the schedule of each group and their allocated time. In order to accommodate learners with other siblings in the school, we must try to stick to this schedule as much as possible. Thank you for your understanding.

ในวันที่ ๓๑ มีนาคม เวลา ๑๓.๐๐ ถึง ๑๕.๐๐ น. เราจะมีการประชุมนำเสนอผลงานนักเรียน โดยมีการจัดแบ่งกลุ่มออกเป็นสามกลุ่มตามช่วงเวลาที่ต่างกัน เพื่อให้นักเรียนได้อภิปรายจากแฟ้มสะสมผลงานของตนเอง เมื่อการนำเสนอผลงานของนักเรียนเสร็จสิ้นเรียบร้อยแล้ว ท่านผู้ปกครองสามารถพาบุตรหลานของท่านกลับบ้านได้ ด้านล่างนี้เป็นตารางเวลาของแต่ละกลุ่ม เราจะใช้ตารางเวลาดังกล่าวให้ได้มากที่สุดเท่าที่จะเป็นไปได้ เพื่อรองรับนักเรียนที่มีพี่หรือน้องในระดับชั้นเรียนอื่นๆ ทางเราขอขอบพระคุณอย่างยิ่งมา ณ ที่นี้ด้วย

Homework
Each week the children are being assigned homework within Google Classroom from their classroom teachers. Their homework is being tracked in order to ensure that the children are continuing to build their skills and make a connection at home to follow our Home Learning Policy. Please allow your child to set some time aside at home during the week to complete these home learning tasks. Teachers will be as flexible as possible as we understand many of our children are already attending extra classes outside of regular school hours.

ในแต่ละสัปดาห์นักเรียนได้รับมอบหมายงานในกูเกิลคลาสรูมจากครูประจำวิชานั้นๆ ทางโรงเรียนมีการติดตามการทำการบ้านของนักเรียนเพื่อให้แน่ใจว่านักเรียนได้เสริมสร้างทักษะและความเชื่อมโยงอย่างต่อเนื่องจากการทำงานที่ได้รับมอบหมายจากที่บ้านตามนโยบายการบ้านของโรงเรียน กรุณาให้เวลาส่วนหนึ่งกับเด็กๆ เพื่อให้ทำการบ้านให้เสร็จสิ้นในแต่ละสัปดาห์ ครูผู้สอนจะมีการยืดหยุ่นเรื่องนี้ให้ได้มากที่สุดเท่าที่จะเป็นไปได้ เนื่องจากเราตระหนักดีว่า เด็กๆหลายคนอาจมีการเรียนพิเศษอื่นๆเป็นประจำอยู่แล้ว
Language & Literature
This week in Language and Literature class the children have been creating a collage the represents beautiful people. This activity will help the children understand that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and that all people view beauty differently. The children have also been exploring digital citizenship and some of the important concepts that make us good digital citizens. For next week the children will be exploring the effects of bullying. They will be writing a persuasive essay on what they feel are the best ways to combat bullying in schools.

Individuals & Society
For this week the children were introduced to unit 5 on how people decide where they would like to settle and establish a sustainable life. The children explored how to locate different types of settlements and how the hierarchy of settlements is established. For next week the children will be designing their own sustainable settlements by either creating a diorama, a digital settlement or through a drawing.

Maths
Middle years students are solving coded quotes using math equations to decipher a message. They are also applying their knowledge and understanding of algebraic equations involving word problems in order to evaluate real-life scenarios for an assessment. Students are reviewing the associative, commutative and distributive properties for addition and multiplication in order to apply their skills to equations involving exponents and linear equations.

Science
Students are exploring energy transformations and learning about the various mechanisms involved in heat energy transfer. A solar oven design project is being used to model how radiation, convection and conduction can be collected to provide sufficient energy necessary to cook food. For this next week, students will be assessed on an investigation involving energy conservation and how energy efficiency can be increased in the design of residences.

Design
This week in Design, the students are working on creating their solutions to help improve student success at UDIS. They are encouraged to build a model of their proposed changes using either material design or digital design and we have students who have chosen a variety of interesting and effective ways to share their ideas. Before the end of term 2, the student will have the change to pitch their ideas to the school admin on creative and innovation possibilities for school improvement.
