Year 7&8 Weekly Blog
International Day Event
On Thursday, March 4th the MY learners took charge to help lead our International Day celebration. They were responsible for organising their performances within their groups. They did an excellent job and had an enjoyable time developing their leadership skills. They acted as good role models for the younger learners.
ในวันพฤหัสบดีที่ ๔ มีนาคม นักเรียนมัธยมศึกษาได้มีบทบาทในการเป็นผู้นำกิจกรรมการเฉลิมฉลองวันสากล พวกเขามีหน้าที่รับผิดชอบในการจัดการแสดงภายในกลุ่มย่อยของพวกเขา พวกเขาทำหน้าที่ได้ดีเยี่ยมและสนุกกับช่วงเวลาที่ได้พัฒนาทักษะการเป็นผู้นำ พวกเขาได้แสดงการแบบอย่างที่ดีต่อนักเรียนรุ่นน้องอีกด้วย
Language & Literature
This week in Language and Literature class the children have been learning about how to analyse the different points of view of being in a dilemma. These children have also been learning how effective a story can be when it is written in 1st person. For next week, the children will be analysing how humour sometimes plays a role in helping families cope with serious situations and health conditions.

ในชั้นเรียนวิชาหลักภาษาและวรรณกรรมสัปดาห์นี้เด็กๆได้เรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับวิธีการวิเคราะห์มุมมองที่แตกต่างกันของสภาวะกลืนไม่เข้าคายไม่ออก เด็กๆยังได้เรียนรู้อีกว่าเรื่องราวสามารถส่งผลกระทบมากน้อยเพียงใดเมื่อถูกเขียนโดยบุคคลที่หนึ่ง ในสัปดาห์หน้าเด็กๆจะได้วิเคราะห์วิธีที่อารมญ์ขันมีบทบาทที่ช่วยให้ครอบครัวรับมือกับสถานการณ์อันเลวร้ายและสภาวะของสุขภาพในบางครั้งได้
Individuals & Society
For this week the children have been learning about how to analyse different forms of the map. The children also viewed various examples of different maps and worked together to decided if the examples were genuine reflections of each location and if they could be trusted. For next week, the children will be completing a two-part summative assessment where they will display their skills in map creation and use the knowledge they have gained during this unit within their maps.

Maths
This week, students are studying algebra word problems in order to apply their skills to real-world problems. They will also be preparing themselves for an assessment that involves creating equations with relevant mathematical elements from a mixture of scenarios. This involves both finding the solutions and commenting on any ambiguities in the questions that would require additional information or explanation.

Science
Students are investigating energy changes and how energy can be saved or harnessed for our benefit. They will also choose one particular form of energy extraction to investigate, in order to evaluate how and why the uses of energy are affecting the environment, and what types of energy might best meet the needs of society in the future.
